楼会议室 Abstract:
The safety, reliability, precision, and
speed of medical equipment play vital roles every day in hospitals, diagnostic
centers, and other healthcare facilities. With need for patient-specific
treatment, high quality of life for aging population, there is a huge demand
for devices that can sense, control, record, and manipulate with precision and
real-time feedback. Mechatronics has started playing a significant role in new
innovative medical devices. This talk will cover basic concept and application
to motivate multidisciplinary discussion. A few on-going projects will also be
presented for broad discussion. A case of prostate cancer treatment with da
Vinci robot and issues involving robotic surgery will be presented.
